Knowledge. Sharing. Entrepreneurship. Innovation. These are premises of Ponto Verde Open Innovation, a Sociedade Ponto Verde research, development and innovation programme that is going to support business models and projects from universities, startups (in operation for less than three years), companies and individuals aged over 18.

The challenge is to submit business models and projects from all sectors related to the bioeconomy and circular economy.

Accepted projects may receive funding.

1. LAUNCH

The Ponto Verde Open Innovation project was presented to the public at Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon on 3 December.

2. ENTRY SUBMISSION PERIOD

Entries will be accepted as of February 2016.

Entries can be submitted to www.pontoverdeopeninnovation.com.

3. SHORT LISTING

This phase involves the preliminary merit assessment of the projects submitted to find those that best meet the Sociedade Ponto Verde challenge and are most suited to the development of the bioeconomy and circular economy.

The preliminary merit assessment will be performed by independent bodies.

4. ASSESSMENT AND SELECTION

The short-listed projects will be assessed by the Ponto Verde Open Innovation Advisory Board.

5. BOOTCAMP

The Bootcamp will be run by a specialised university institution, and will involve up to 20 projects selected by the Advisory Board.

5. FINAL SELECTION

The projects selected will be assessed by the Executive Committee of Sociedade Ponto Verde, the funding partners and Ponto Verde Open Innovation partners.

The projects chosen for support will receive funding and may be helped with incubation. They will be announced to the public at an event and on a date to be defined.

6. IMPLEMENTATION

The selected projects may be accompanied for up to three years.
